Add a website to FreshRSS

Paste a website's ordinary address and FreshRSS finds its feed for you.

FreshRSS shows new posts from the websites you follow, all in one list. To follow a site, you only need its ordinary address, the one you'd type into a browser. FreshRSS finds the site's feed for you.

Add a site

  1. Open FreshRSS from its card on your dashboard.
  2. Press the blue + next to Subscription management, at the top left.
  3. Paste the site's address into Feed URL, for example https://xkcd.com.
  4. Press Add.

FreshRSS says the feed has been added and opens its settings. You don't need to change anything there. Press ← Go back to your RSS feeds to see the site's latest posts.

If FreshRSS can't add it

FreshRSS says "The newsfeed could not be added" when it can't find a feed at that address. Some sites keep their feed on their blog or news page rather than the front page, so try that page's address. If that fails too, the site doesn't publish a feed.

Bring your feeds from another reader

Most feed readers can export the sites you follow as an OPML file. In FreshRSS, press Subscription management, choose Import / export, pick the file under Import, and press Import.
