linkding keeps the pages you want to find again. You can always paste a link into it by hand, but the browser extension is what makes it stick — one click on any page and it's saved, tagged, and searchable.
Install the extension
The extension is free and published by linkding's author.

You can also reach both links from inside linkding under Settings → Integrations → Browser Extension.
Connect it to your linkding
The extension asks for two things the first time you open it.
Base URL is your linkding address, with no trailing slash. It looks like:
https://yourname-linkding.getterrarium.app
API Authentication Token comes from linkding itself:
- Open linkding from your Terrarium dashboard
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Under REST API, click New token key
- Copy the token and paste it into the extension
Save, and the extension is ready. Clicking it on any page opens a small form with the title and URL already filled in — add tags if you want, or just save.
No extension? Use the bookmarklet
If you're on a browser that can't install extensions, linkding offers a bookmarklet instead. It's under Settings → Integrations → Bookmarklet. Drag it to your bookmarks bar and it does the same job from a button.
Bring your existing bookmarks
If you already have years of bookmarks in your browser, you don't have to start over.
- Export them from your browser — most browsers put this under a bookmark manager's import/export menu, and the file ends in
.html - In linkding, go to Settings
- Choose the file under Import and upload it
Tags and folders come across with the file, and importing a few thousand bookmarks takes a couple of seconds.
