Getting started with Memos

Quick-capture notes with Markdown, tags, and full-text search.

Memos is a lightweight note-taking app designed for quick capture — think of it as a private Twitter for your thoughts, ideas, and to-do items.

Creating a note

Open Memos from your Terrarium dashboard (click Open). You'll see a text box at the top of the page. Type your note and hit Enter or click the send button.

That's it — no title, no folder, no save button. Notes are saved instantly.

Markdown

Memos supports Markdown formatting:

  • **bold** and *italic*
  • - bullet lists
  • `inline code`
  • > blockquotes
  • Checklists with - [ ] task syntax

Tags

Type #shopping or #work-ideas anywhere in a note to tag it. Tags appear in the left sidebar — click one to filter notes by that tag.

Use the search bar at the top to do full-text search across all your notes.

Access from anywhere

Memos is a web app — open your URL (https://{your-username}-memos.getterrarium.app) from any browser on any device. On your phone, you can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

The first time you open Memos, it will ask you to create an account. This is Memos's own account system, separate from your Terrarium login.
